Free Fire & Water Volcano Show at the Mirage in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is fun, but it can be pretty pricey anyhow you slice it. Maximize your fun-time mileage by hitting as many free shows as you can. One truly great free show is the volcano at The Mirage right on the strip.

It runs nightly, but check online to make sure of the times. Get there early so you can be close enough to the railing to see it properly, even if you’re tall. Your kids may not enjoy the same height advantage you do, but they’ll love the show if they can see it.

It’s long, it’s stunning, and it blasts so much fuel you can hear the nozzles screaming it out, even over all the other sounds.

And best of all, you can feel the heat on your face. It makes me glad so many people are willing to lose so much money to keep this place in business, but also sad for the same reasons. Then again Treasure Island stopped their sinking pirate ship show precisely because freebie families with kids aren’t gamblers, but that’s understandable too.

Beware that many casinos are now trying to charge for parking. Forsake such places, as they know not what they do.
