Carnitas Snack Shack in San Diego is legendary. Not just because they cater to the highest paying of tourists, but because they still sell primarily to locals. Having tried their foods, I can’t pretend I don’t know why.
The staff is friendly, sure, but the food is other wordly.

There’s outside seating that’s nice, but the food is infinitely better still.
Chips & Guac that would make your mama cry.
Fresh, hand-cut fries.
Burgers and/or sandwhiches piled so high you almost need to unhinge your head just to cut in.
But the hordes never fail to stop flocking.
It’s about 20% more than you’ll pay for fast food, but easily twice as tasty, and likely twice as big of portions.
