Somehow, against all odds, my kids swore they’d never been to a beach. We’d missed them a few times on coastal trips, but surely they must have been there before, right?
Well no time like the present to introduce them, so we went to Coronado beach, and it was pretty chill, pretty fair, and pretty fairly awesome, of course we took our chairs and a beach towel to enjoy more. Some guys joked to each other that I must be a Trump supporter because I was wearing a cowboy hat… which I’d bought a few miles away, the day before, for a dollar, imported from Mexico. So it goes.

The brothers helped him with labor, but not logistics. I’s unfair to make an 8 year old project manage his own sea fortress.
He had fun. We had fun. It was a great “first” beach experience.
And always looming in the distance is the historic Coronado Hotel.
