Fremont Street Experience… Equal parts free and AMAZING

Fremont Street in Las Vegas, Nevada is a mecha for gamblers, tourists, and families alike. With attractions like the nightly canopy show, I can’t pretend I’m surprised. It’s pretty darn amazing!

Check the web for times, dates, and any cancellations, but it’s nightly, and it’s mind boggling in scale.

Forget your 60″ TV, this is a TV screen several blocks long, and the show is set to music. If this doesn’t wow you, you simply cannot be wowed.

Royalty-Free music by Kevin MacLeod — Incompetech.com, you know, because we don’t have the rights to Green Day, even in a display like this.

For this one, you don’t even have to show up early, since every standing-room-only seat in the house is a front row seat. Parking will run you anywhere from free (unlikely) to about $7-10 (most likely) up to infinity, if you’re the sort of sucker that parks in the first or worst place possible.

We got dinner afterward at the Golden Nugget Casino, and despite being desperately swamped with tourist jokers like us, the service was fast, the price was reasonable (sub-Denny’s) and the food was great.

If you’re in the area, you just gotta check it out.
