California Science Center Review (3 of 4) – The Earthquake Experience

One of the coolest free places we’ve ever gone is the California Science Center in Los Angeles, California. So cheap, so free, yet better than many of the places we’ve paid a mint to visit.

They have countless attractions, but one that really stood out (enough that it got its own review) is the Earthquake Simulator.

Space is limited and it only runs every so often, but it’s a nice place to cool down and chill and wait for the fun.

There’s an explanation of everything earthquake related, plus a bunch of insight into the tech that keeps buildings standing in those dire instances, and when it’s all done, the place shakes and rattles like you’re in one yourself.

Having been in one myself (the humble 6.8 Nisqually quake of 2001,) I can say this jiggling floor, while clever, is absolutely nothing like being in an actual earthquake… still great info and insight though!

The place was so big and amazing we had to break our reviews into four parts:
1 – Overview.
2 – Rooftop Sea Life exhibit.
3 – The Earthquake Experience (this one!)
4 – The 50-foot lady.
