There are few things more shocking than gore, and few things more fascinating that human anatomy. The Body Worlds exhibit in Amsterdam manages to tread that line delicately, with cadavers intimately exposed in ways almost, but not quite, shocking to the conscience.
Mind you, some sensibilities are more easily shocked than others, but these delicately preserved (though most certainly unwitting) corpses show the intimate intricacies and variations between everyday humans in ways no textbook could explain.
Cameras are permitted, but we didn’t know that until later in the tour, so our two-part series is far from comprehensive.
