I’ve had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Nintendo, in that they treat me like a pestering step-child, and rarely even bother to send me press releases. I worked around them to get a review copy of Super Mario Galaxy Two, which I’d heard was great… and yes, it’s great… no, it might even be better than that. Continue reading Wii Review: New Super Mario Brothers
There is no shortage of reviews that show just what a terrible game can be bought in “Chicken Shoot”, but I somehow let my desire to get a good deal overcome me when I made my purchase, even though I had read the reviews, and I really did know better. It’s not so much that you should expect something spectacular for $14.99, but the real problem is that stores simply shouldn’t be carrying garbage of this sheer incomparability. Continue reading Chicken Shoot for Nintendo Wii – It’s Awful
Since our purchase of the Nintendo Wii last year, we’ve been doing our best to consider games as they come around, and do our best to review them as it’s appropriate. We’ve been shopping since then like regular folk, but we’ve been suckered in to at least a couple lackluster Wii purchases, and this terrible game is just one such example. Continue reading Wii Review: Offroad Extreme: Special Edition
Of all the cut-rate games I’ve bought for the Nintendo Wii, none meant much for me than headache. After buying the Nintendo Play (which came with a controller, so I was warned to have low expectations,) and falling for another title I won’t even bother naming, my faith in the system was entirely shaken… and then I found Lego Star Wars, and my modern gaming life just may now be complete. Continue reading Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Nintendo Wii
We recently got our hands on a fun, new game. Toy Story 3 for the Wii is a really fun title. It’s bug-free, well animated, and good for quite a lot of repeat playability… but one thing it sure as heck isn’t, is worth $49.99… not by a mile.
The game is great for younger kids due to the fact that, when you fail levels, it restarts you with easier and easier targets, plus hints and on-screen walk-throughs. Continue reading Wii Review of Toy Story 3
We see a LOT of games, and more than that, we see a lot of questionable games. There’s a new first person shooter out from Zoo Games, and, for the right price, it ain’t half bad.
Dino Strike is like any number of arcade games you used to play, but instead of feeding untold quarters into a machine, you can just rent it, or buy it, and call it good enough. Continue reading Dino Strike Wii Game Review
I’m always a bit skeptical when it comes to movie tie-in games, though I’ve seen them span the quality range. From “Despicable Me” at the bottom, to “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” in the middle, to Toy Story 3 at the top. Continue reading Rango the Video Game for Wii, XBox and PS3 Review
If you haven’t heard of this game, don’t be surprised. It’s not an official title, and it’s one of the most difficult to track down. If you can find it, and you can convince your Wii to play it, you’re in store for a whole new “New Super Mario Brothers” experience, brought to you by the good folks that hacked it, cracked it, and put it back together in truly bizarre ways.
