Parent’s Packing Seems Suspiciously Pre-Vacation-ish

Throughout this week I’ve noticed a strange trend among the parental folk, and I’m not the only one to take notice of it. There have been unusual purchases and unusual packing of odd ended thises and thats. If I didn’t know better, which I’m proud to say I do, I’d think we were hovering on the eve of yet another vacation.

I’ve fared from coasts to other coasts and some distance beyond. I’ve traveled nation to nation as if I was some sort of ambassador for my peoples (only to later learn that I was) so I think I know a trend when I see it.

Something tells me we’re going somewhere, but I don’t know how, I don’t know why, and I surely can’t tell you where.

My best clothes are all packed up, we’re getting our handsomest haircuts, and all our loose ends seem uncommonly tied up, almost as if in anticipation of some great event.

If we’re going somewhere, I’d like to know about it. I know for weeks the parents have been talking about San Francisco, but I’m sure that’s not it. Daddy-O watched a Myth Busters marathon and Miss Mama Lady’s been watching tons of Dharma and Greg, so that’s probably why.

I mean, why would we go to San Francisco outside of the baseball season? Pac Bell stadium isn’t even open and there aren’t going to be any dingers in the bay this time of year. Surely that can’t be the place, can it?

Well, I suspect I’ve already lost you at this point. If I have, I apologize in absentia (since you’re already gone or at least spaced out to some far, distant place) and if you’re still here but scratching your undersized, adult noggin, scratch it along with me.

Sadly, we’ll both have to wait for coming days to know where it is that we’re going and why. Keep it tuned in to this station, because I’m not going to give up the question this easily, and don’t you give up on me either. I’ve still got your newsy-informative back and I’m determined to learn what’s afoot (as well as at hand, at elbow and at others).

Come what may, I guess I’ll have to see you on the flip side.

Wondering why we're packing up our clothes
Above – Let this look of confusion sum up the article… why are we packing up stuff and where is it that we think we’re likely headed?
