Betty Rubble was a rockin’ hotty until Pebbles came of age. Barney was a buffoon second only to Fred in his stupidity. Wilma was gracious and patient, but only because she knew her reality show would be canceled if she ever left her husband.
These are the lessons I learned from The Flintstones in my childhood, and it’s not a pretty story so much as a cautionary tale. Sure it all works out in the end, but mostly for the network executives.
